hi, i'm catie.
i am sixteen years old until november 8th 2008
i am a sophomore at the mount-
-i really do love that place. ♥
i'm italian, but i also speak some french-
hence the username
it means "live your life"
& i thought english was too boring.

i dream of world peace
an end to hunger
poverty, war
hate, fear.
my friends joke around
& call me a hippie
but all i want is peace

i'm a rower
the sport is pretty painful sometimes,
but i do love it.
i also like to write, paint, and play the piano
music is my life-
if only i could sing as well as i want to.

i want to go to Yale for college
study journalism & law
i'd like to say i'm smart
i don't mind writing essays or making outlines.
sometimes i get too stressed over my grades
but that only helps me to do better.

i listen to all sorts of music-
mostly rock
pink floyd, led zeppelin, and the who are the equivalents of
God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit in this family.
but the beatles are my personal all-time favorite
i tried to teach myself guitar once
but that didn't go over too well
so i just stick with my beloved piano.

i have paint stains all over my carpet
because i don't have anywhere to paint but on the floor.
i would have applied for an art scholarship for the mount
if the test wasn't on my birthday.

the shore is where i love to be during the summer
but fall is my favorite season, followed by winter.

i know how to have fun without being stupid
and sometimes my ideas of having a good time might be playing hide-and-go-seek with my friends and sisters.

The world is mine. I can live, laugh and love and nobody will care. I can listen to the music I love and turn up the volume as high as I want. I can speak a different language and for one minute I’d be walking past the Eiffel Tower carrying a black and white umbrella. I can feel the rain and not miss the sun because the rain is just enough to make me happy. I can walk outside in the freezing cold and I would only need to hug my jacket closer to me and drink a cup of coffee. I can cry about things that I’m allowed to cry about, but I can’t cry about my world being abused. I can’t cry over the homeless, the poor, the sick and the starved. I shouldn’t, at least. I don’t want to cry over war and crime, because my crying would not bring peace. It’s my world, but it’s their world too. It’s your world. I can’t enjoy the rain if I know that the homeless have no black and white umbrella to keep them dry. I can’t listen to music knowing there are people who have to listen to the sounds of bombs and gunfire instead. I can’t speak my mind or use my voice knowing there are children who use theirs instead to beg for a single slice of bread or a grain of rice. Or people who use their voices to say no. Peace isn’t, but it should be. We cry and we do nothing but pretend we care, or pretend we are helping and that we’ve done our part, “it’s his turn or I gave enough already.” It’s our world, and it’s ours to change. Give a little more. Give peace a chance.
